These are the terms you’re agreeing to, in plain language. Please read them before you start.
What this is
UnDistorted is published by Fledgewright LLC (“Fledgewright,” “we,” or “us”). It is a self-guided educational program for noticing and challenging distorted thinking, with optional tools for reflection and daily practices. It is educational: it does not diagnose or treat any condition, it is not therapy, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. By accepting these terms, you agree to them.
Who can use it
You need to be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to accept these terms and use the app. UnDistorted is made for adults and is not directed to children.
Your license to use the app
When you get UnDistorted, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You are buying the right to use the app, not the app itself.
The program, its text and exercises, the design, and the UnDistorted name belong to Fledgewright and its licensors. Except where the law or your app store’s terms allow it, please do not copy, sell, rent, sub-license, publish, or reverse-engineer the app, or create other works based on it. Anything you write in the app is yours.
What it can bring up
The work asks you to challenge beliefs you may have held for a long time, and that can be uncomfortable. Sometimes it surfaces more than you expected. You set the pace and you can stop at any point.
If you are in danger or you need someone right now, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line. In the U.S., you can call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. In the app, “Get Support Now” is in the menu on every screen, reachable without agreeing to anything.
Not medical or professional advice
UnDistorted does not give medical or psychological advice, a diagnosis, or treatment, and nothing in it should be taken that way. It is not a replacement for professional care. Decisions about your health or your care are yours to make with a qualified professional, and you use the program at your own discretion.
Your data is yours to keep
Everything you write stays on your device. We run no servers and have no way to see your entries, recover them, or restore them for you.
Your phone’s own backup systems are switched off for this app, so nothing is copied to Google Drive or iCloud. That means a backup you keep yourself is the only copy that can move to a new phone. Keeping one is up to you, and if you lose the device without one, the work is gone.
The app is provided “as is”
We work to make UnDistorted useful and reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for a particular purpose. Some places do not allow certain warranties to be excluded, so parts of this may not apply to you.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Fledgewright is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing takes away consumer rights you have where you live. UnDistorted is a low-cost self-help tool, and it is not a substitute for professional help when you need it.
What you are agreeing to
- You are using this program by your own choice and at your own pace.
- You will not treat what it says as medical or psychological advice.
- If you need professional help, this app is not a replacement for it.
- You will use the app lawfully and for your own personal use.
- Keeping your own backup of your data is your responsibility.
Your app store’s terms also apply
You downloaded UnDistorted from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and that store’s terms also govern your purchase and use. The store distributes the app; it does not provide it and is not responsible for it or its content. Where the store’s rules require it, the store and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Support and refunds are handled under that store’s policies, not by Fledgewright.
Which laws apply
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If the mandatory law of the place you live gives you stronger protections, those still apply to you.
If part of these terms does not hold
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters, the updated version will be posted with a new effective date, both here and in the app, and the app will ask you to read them again before you continue.
