UnDistorted

Privacy Policy

Published by Fledgewright · Effective date: July 22, 2026

UnDistorted (“the app”) is a personal cognitive-distortion training program. This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: the app keeps everything on your device and sends nothing to us or anyone else.

Who is responsible

UnDistorted is published by Fledgewright. If you have questions about this policy or your data, email hello@fledgewright.com.

The short version

What the app stores, and where

Everything you do in the app (your weekly check-ins, daily stem entries, journal entries, quick logs, behavior reflections, daily practices, program progress, and settings) is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This information stays on your device unless you choose to back it up or export it to a location you pick (see “Backups”). We operate no servers and have no ability to see, access, or retrieve your information.

What the app does not do

Notifications

If you turn on reminders, the app schedules them locally on your device. No reminder data is sent anywhere, and the app does not use internet-delivered push notifications.

Biometric unlock and passcode

Backups

You can export a backup file yourself from Data Management. It is created at your request and saved wherever you choose. Importing a backup reads a file you select.

You can also turn on automatic backups. When you do, you pick a folder on your device, and the app saves a backup there on a schedule you set (for example, daily or weekly) while the app is open. Automatic backups are currently available on Android.

Either way, backups are written only to the place you chose and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. You control the file. If you have set a passcode, backups are encrypted; if you have not, the app saves them unencrypted and tells you so on the Data Management screen. The app keeps a few recent automatic backups and removes older ones.

The app also opts out of your phone’s own backup systems, so your entries are not copied to Google Drive or iCloud and are not carried over by a phone-to-phone transfer. That keeps your writing on the device it was written on. It also means a backup you keep is the only way to move your work to a new phone, so if you replace or lose your phone without one, the work is gone.

Crisis resources

If a check-in suggests you may be struggling, the app may show optional links to crisis-support resources. Choosing one opens your phone’s dialer, your messaging app, or an external website (for example, a helpline directory). Those services are run by third parties with their own privacy practices. The app sends them no information about you; it simply opens the contact method you tap.

Your control over your data

Because all data is stored only on your device, you are always in control of it:

Children

UnDistorted is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted with a new effective date, both here and in the app.
